Beams of 6.5 TeV circulating in the LHC

The LHC is getting ready for Run-2.

11.04.2015

This week, for the first time ever, the LHC accellerated two beams to an energy of 6.5 TeV each.
It's just one of many steps towards physics collisions, but it's certainly an importent one and shows the readyness of the machine. At the same time Atlas is finalising its preparations for the start of Run-2 in about a month or so.
