Sascha Mehlhase becomes ATLAS co-convener of newly created LHC working group

01.05.2020

Sascha Mehlhase was appointed ATLAS co-convener, for a period of two years, of a newly created LHC Working Group on searches for long-lived particles (LLPs).
The LHC LLP Working Group was set up by the LHC Physics Centre at CERN in coordination and by request of the LHC experiments. This new working groups complements the already existing working groups on Dark Matter, Electroweak Measurements, Forward Physics, Heavy-Flavour Physics, Minimum Bias & Underlying Event, Machine Learning and Top Physics.
Its creating underlines the importance and relevance of this growing area of particle physics. Amongst other things, the working group aims to facilitate communication between the experimental and theoretical LLP communities and provide recommendations to experiments on various subject of common interest.
