This year's annual spring meeting of the Matter and Cosmos Section (SMuK) of the DPG took place from March 31 to April 4, 2025, at the University of Göttingen. As in previous years, our group participated in the conference, contributing numerous talks about the current status of our research.
Many different fields within physics were represented, including particle physics, astrophysics, medical physics, theoretical physics, plasma physics, and more—highlighting ongoing and future research projects in each area.
Our group contributed to the following research topics during the parallel sessions:
- Higgs Self-Interaction from Vector Boson Fusion (Lars)
- Machine Learning Algorithms Focusing on Triplet Learning (Bao)
- Reconstruction of Standalone Muons in Run 3, Including First Results from the New Small Wheel (Celine)
- Upgrade of the MDT Front-End Electronics of Our Cosmic Ray Facility (Eshita)
- Development of a New Trigger System for the Cosmic Ray Facility (Nick)
- Investigation of a Micro-Pixel Charge-Sharing Micromegas Detector (Mathew)
- Research and Development of an Inverted RICH Detector (Daniel)
In addition to the parallel sessions, our group was honored to present two invited talks in the main auditorium. These covered:
- Performance of the ATLAS New Small Wheels (Fabian)
- Searches for New Physics in Soft Unclustered Energy Patterns (Alex)
Below you can find some impressions of the invited talks.
