Christoph Jagfeld's Successful PhD Defense

We want to congratulate Christoph Jagfeld for successully passing his PhD exam on the 16th of May 2023.
Christophs research was on Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors where he developed a Segmented GEM Readout (SGR) detector. Such a detector is a hybrid of a Micromegas and a GEM detector. By introducing the GEM foil instead of a micro-mesh, an additonal readout layer on the GEM foil itself by segmenting the top and/or the bottom side of the foil is achieved. This leads to an excellent detector resolution. Ambiguities in high-rate environments with multiple particles passing the detector at the same time are reduced.
