Eshita Kumar received the 2026 Georges Charpak Young Scientist Award

At the occation of the 9th Internation Conference on Micropattern Gaseous Detectors Eshita Kumar received the Georges Charpak Young Scientist Award for the best talk presented by young scientists under the age of 35. Georges Charpak, the inventor of the Multiwire Proportional Chamber and 1992 Physics Nobel Prize winner has dedicated part of his life in the encouragement of young scientists in their scientific work, engaging collaborations and promoting great achievements that are in the origin of our field. Eshita Kumar presented her PhD research project which is on the development of a charge-sharing Micromegas detector with a pixel-strip hybrid readout.
